CPS space and co-location
The data behind “Chicago’s underutilized schools are an unrealized opportunity” and its map: Chicago Public Schools’ own space-utilization figures, the school-based health centers, operating and closed, in or beside schools, and the libraries, park buildings and City service sites around them.
01 Coverage
The 642 schools in the release, every one with a map coordinate, and CPS’s space-utilization records for school year 2025–26 where it publishes one, 510 in all; the school-based health centers, operating and closed, in or beside schools; and the library branches, park buildings and City service sites around them. The City’s clinic, senior center and workforce center rosters are years old; the sources below give their dates.
